A MANO PROFESIONAL reeds are reeds with different dimensions corresponding to traditional Italian manufacturers. Their tonal spectrum is characterized by a clear, sharp tone. The reeds are ground from reed steel with a strength of 2 000 N/mm², a width of 240 mm, an accuracy of +/- 0.002 mm, and they are pressed to a corresponding scale with an accuracy of +/- 0.01 mm.

The reed plates are manufactured from aluminum sheets with a hardness of 160 HB. The reed air gaps are machined with electro-erosive technology to an accuracy of +/- 0.01 mm. The assembly of the reed tongues on the reed plate is conducted manually to provide for the perfect centering of the tongue, thus guaranteeing an air gap with a maximum of 0.03 mm and the perfect production of tongue intonation. Riveting is completed in a fan shape, which is characteristic of A MANO reeds.

The channels are cut by electroerosive technology. The surface of the reed is ground. The sides of the reeds are grooved to create better wax adhesion to the reed and the headstock. The reeds are made of Swedish steel with a strength of 2 000 N/mm² with a tolerance of T3, ground to an accuracy of -20 cents from the basic tone, with a head width at the rivet of 7 – 9 mm, with corrosion protection. The reeds are hand riveted to achieve a perfect connection with the reed and precise centering of the reed in the channel. The air gap between the channel wall and the reed on each side is 0.03 mm at the rivet and 0.04 mm at the tip of the reed. The underside of the channel is widened compared to the top layer. A characteristic feature of Class I is the termination of the hand riveting in a multi-faceted needle. The reeds are hand-tuned with abrasive cloth, following the basic reed profile to within +/- 5 cents.
